Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a famous mystery writer (The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes) and spiritualist from the early twentieth century who predicted, with his book the coming of a spiritually based religion oin the future. This "New Revelation" seems to ahve taen shape, as he ahd predicted,in the form of the NEw Age Movement.
Doyle based this book on the siritualist movement of his daty that included channeling, seances, automatic writing, and a variety of other strange, psychic occurrences. He investigated these thinigs thoroughly and came away cnvinced that more proof existd within these realms thatn could be found within any standard religion. He acknowledged some of the fraudlulent scams that were exposed in spiritual cirlces and staed that serous researchres like himself compltely deplred such events and taht they wer not represenative of the larger areas of authentic psychic phenomena.

Taosim being strangely similar to the moral framework of Christianity which is similar to Buddhist morality. The Morality of the muslim faith is not that dissimilar from the morality of these as well. Doyle says character seems to be the most important element in the afterlife after interviewing many souls.
